Family photo album

Ok a little bit of a cheeky name but as it has come up multiple times in the POTD I decided to start a thread where you can post photos that might not have been taken by you personally but were taken by a family member (or friend).

They can be old or new, scanned from a negative or an old photo, it can even be a photo of a photo.

Try to group them together as much as you can by any means like day, date, camera, person that took the photo, subject...

No hard rules but all the normal rules apply like:

• Be respectful
• Try not to repeat photos
• Safe for work

This is a good idea! Thanks! Also, moving forward, yes, wouldn't this be a much more logical place than the POTD for people to share their current as well as older photos they've taken of family members and friends? Kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews, spouses, parents, aunts and uncles, grandparents, etc.? Uncle Joe goofing off at a family reunion, a rare gathering of several generations of family members together, etc.? This could indeed be a fun thread.

No. This is not a "more logical place" to share photos of people who we love and care for.

The POTD is perfectly fine for any photographer who wants to share a photo they took of anything. A relative, a family reunion, a flag-giving ceremony, a child playing a sport, a new baby. As long as the photo shared has been taken by the photographer posting, it is still eligible and welcome in the POTD thread.

Just because you don't wish to take and share photos of people doesn't mean that other people must refrain also.

I wasn't intending this to be a discussion thread.... I thought the into was pretty clear that it is intended for anyone wanting to share photos that they themselves did not take. Of course people can post photos they did take but I created it so that anyone can share fun and interesting family photos that are not suited for the POTD.

Will go with ov's suggestion and post this one here. I will apologize somewhat for yesterdays rather mild but extended rant, even though most of what I said needed to be said. The apology is for temporarily hijacking the POTD thread to say it.

This from a slide taken by my mom in 1947. It required considerable attention on my part to get the most out of it. If you expand to full resolution and look closely I am pretty sure that is mom's '41 boat tail Hudson parked behind the car on the far left.
