My wife and I have always shared the same appleID up until we recently upgraded to ios8 and she got her own appleID and turned on family sharing. Everything seemed good until I realized that she only had 5 GB of storage vs the 200 GB plan I had upgraded us to. Is there no way to share the storage across family members?

It seems silly that you wouldn't be able to share this. Am I missing a setting in family share to enable this?

You don't share space, you share purchased stuff from iTunes.
