I just purchased an iPhone for my daughter and wanted to set her up a child account on my iTunes account. However when it wants a credit card to verify I'm an adult. I have my debit card that has a visa logo that had been associated to the account for years. I got rid of my credit cards. Had anyone found a way around this? Thanks

Since your debit card has the VISA logo on it, it can be used as a credit card. iTunes will see your VISA debit card in iTunes like a regular VISA credit card.

Yeah, that card should work? Try inputting it again?

Anyway, I turned on sharing a few days ago and turned it off yesterday. It was asking me if I wanted to allow my brother to download a free game over and over. The whole point is for us to be able to share content, and it just works too much like a babysitting tool at this point.

So I'd advise you to not bother right now unless you want to see her photos and use Find My iPhone.

I made my wife "parent/guardian" and I never get a pop up. This way it's not longer babysitting. I think it's set as a default that anyone you add is a kid, so you have to change it to "parent/guardian" yourself.

Ok well it is pretty much confirmed that debit cards even with a visa logo will not work. So I tried to load a prepaid American express card that I have and it allowed me to add a child account that way.

I guess in some ways it may be better given the constant security concerns. Only hassle is that it can take upwards of 5 days to load cash from my bank account to the AMX.
