The family sharing seems like a good idea, but it seems like you can't share everything. Please correct me if I'm wrong (that's why I'm writing), but I've read that iTunes match does not share to other accounts on Family Sharing. So I could hand my wife a CD, but she does not have the keys to the music locker. And I'm guessing it's the same with iCloud storage. It would be great if we could share the larger plans, as the small plans are a bit too small. Again, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Alright, my family and I are all set up on Apple Music with Family Sharing turned on. The issue is that all of the CD's I ripped or content I purchased from Amazon is not on my wife's iCloud music library. If I were to log out of my Apple ID on iTunes on my PC, and then log in under my wife's Apple ID, theoretically it should match/upload the content to her iCloud music library. Then I could log out and log back into mine. For example we owned all The Beatles on CD, so I had previously ripped them, and then Apple music added them to my cloud. So now I can listen to the Beatles through Apple music. I want my wife to have the same experience.
Has anyone tried this? I'm not at the comp for awhile, so can anyone confirm this works? Thoughts on this method?

Yes, theoretically it will work. As long as the files you want to upload to her iCloud Music Library is locally on your PC.
I would wait. There are a lot of people complaining about iCloud Library in Apple Music screwing up their libraries so I wouldn't want to take any chances with the 'pure' iTunes library I've had for years just yet. I use iTunes Match, so I haven't had any issues, but if I logged in as jy wife and synced that library to iCloud Library, it could overwrite songs, meta data etc. And screw with my clean iTunes library.
If you have a clean backup somewhere and your wife is anxious to get the full library, go for it. Otherwise I would just share the play lists that she cares about from your account to hers via text and that's it.
Well...I'm testing it now. The problem was that I couldn't just share the playlist, because it contained songs not available on iTunes/Apple Music, i.e., The Beatles. So...I'll report back on the experience.
