Hi there,

My son recently got a Macbook Air for university. He already had an Apple ID which was already included on my iCloud Family Sharing settings (so that he could access Apple Music). For his Macbook I want him to be able to use the 2TB iCloud storage plan we have.

However, on his Macbook, despite the fact he's logged in with the same Apple ID/iCloud account, and despite the fact that he can see the rest of the family in Family sharing, it insists he has his own 5GB storage and is running a 1 month trial of Apple music.

I can see no way to change this. Something is not right with how it's setup. Any suggestions on how to correct it so that the Family Sharing is working for him on his Macbook?

Thanks,
Wayne

He’s just not activated it. Family members may opt into or out of shared storage. Apple menu > System Preferences > Family Sharing > iCloud Storage - he can turn it on or off there.

That's what my initial searching suggested, but I can't see any activate option for him in that dialog - only something that allows him to upgrade/purchase more storage.

When I see his profile on my phone it shows that he has Apple Music and iCloud storage. When he looks on his Mac it only shows (his own?) 1 month trial of Apple music. Something is not joined up!
