I have setup Family sharing not so long ago so my daughter can use games like Minecraft that I bought, and also for family members to have access to Apple TV+. This has been fine, up until I saw that a family members new iCloud storage subscription started getting billed to my credit card! (I share my iCloud storage with wife and daughter but not other members of the family).

I do indeed have Purchase sharing ON so my kid can play Minecraft, but I didn't expect others members purchases to use my credit card - is there a way of stopping this? I know I can turn off sharing, but then my kid won't be able to play my Minecraft anymore. Can I get the other family member to change their default payment method? I assume that has annoyingly defaulted to my credit card.

An ideal situation would be able to choose which family member had access to sharing credit card, not just Apple TV+.

Anyone know of a way of doing this?

From my understanding and much frustration, when using Apple Family Sharing and sharing purchases, all purchases must be paid for with the family organizers payment method. Individual family members cannot use their own payment methods. There may be a way to use iTunes Gift Cards for individual purchases but this seems like another pain.

My wive and I have Family Sharing setup for just us; no kids. She's the family organizer. I don't like that every app and subscription I purchase, even stuff she'll never use and doesn't care about, shows up on her credit card.

If you don't want your wife seeing your OnlyFans subscription, you should subscribe via the website, not in the app.

Lol! But seriously, this happened, which makes no sense:

Extended Apple Care on my MacBook Pro for $149.99, which was immediately charged to my wife's credit card with no verification required. Tried to purchase a $2 app from the App Store... no WAY! Not without first verifying that I have authorization to charge the $2 to my wife's credit card. 🤷‍♂️
