I just brought my Macbook Pro in for repair on the audio out jack not working. It works now...

HOWEVER, right when I turn on my computer the fans are running at full speed and will not slow down. Any idea on why and how to fix? Thanks

If you have SMC Fan Control, see if the fans respond to that. If not, time to send it in again...

it starts happening right when I push the power button so I dont think activity monitor really is important... Any other ideas?

Sounds like you're going to have to take it in again. If it takes sMC to stop a fan that's overrunning from *startup*, that's a hardware defect, and should be treated as one.

Is there any other way to get it to run "normal"?? Even though SMCFancontrol might work, its not "natural" if that makes sense...

ALSO- If there was a hardware defect, wouldn't the fan not run at all? Wouldn't software control the fan speed? Thanks! (I have all the updates. I know there was an update earlier this year, maybe 06', that corrected a fan speed problem for MBP's)

Not necessarily. Suppose your thermometer is broken? It might be over reporting your temps and thus kicking in the fans.

I think it's time for you to ring up Apple in any case. Sorry.:(
