Why do you want the fans on your iMac on max all the time?

I only see cons with a maximized fan speed all the time.

Not sure if it’s good or bad for your iMac, maybe the fans will wear out sooner.

If I always turn the fan speed to MAX for every time I am using the iMac. Is it good for my iMac? (8c iMac) thx..
There is literally no reason to have the fans running max speed all the time.

The only time I turn the fans on max with my MBP is to keep the cpu cool during renders so it doesn't throttle; other wise I let the computer decide on fan speeds.

Full speed is going to be super loud. Even half way drives me nuts. Not sure how long I would be able to stay sane lol

I have been using Macs Fan Control on my Intel Mini for the last couple years off and on. When it is running the metal case of the Mini is cool to the touch but the fan is loud. Turn off the application and the case top runs hot as heck even at idle but is dead quiet. I have read that this is by design and AFAICT it has not caused any issues for me.

As this is now just a backup device these days it really is not an issue for me so I shut off the control app and let the fans go on auto.
