For the past month, every couple of times when I either wake it from sleep or boot from a shutdown (or restart), the fan won't spin. Or sometimes it will spin up for a second and then stop. It will click a lot. I can't shake the computer or use computer burning software to get the fan to spin up. The only way it will spin is if I slap the computer really hard on the bottom (because slapping the keyboard is just silly).

It's really annoying. Apple has already replaced the fan and thermal modules twice. The last repair was on Tuesday. The fan worked and then today it's happening again.

Anyone else have this issue? I don't want to take my computer in for repair again. I'm sick of going to the Apple Store (they know my name now!); I don't want a replacement computer or anything (because getting a refund on AppleCare is a bitch). I just want this issue to go away. Any ideas?

Maybe your bottom plate is warped or sits funny and is impinging on the fan. Does it function properly if you remove the bottom?

Nope.

Still have no idea why it keeps breaking. I don't want to and don't have time to take it in again.
