I have a back ordered 16” that’s getting pushed back another month, but just got an opportunity to buy a 14” mint condition off a friend who got another free from work. Same specs (Pro, 32, 2TB)

I read mixed things re fan noise on the 14”. From “never heard them” to “too noisy to record nearby”

Curious if anyone has experience with large audio sessions and if it’s an issue at all when the CPU’s are doing some heavy audio lifting, plugged into one external monitor.

If noise free is a priority then clearly go for a 16” with M1 Pro. It is already widely known this variant has the best thermals.

The 14” can be quiet to silent but only when at idle. The 16” can sound as loud as the 14” when both are at max fan speed. The difference is how soon or how often you go into the zone where the fans need to kick in.

Yes totally aware of that... guess I'm just wondering if anyone that uses Logic Pro with big sessions is getting the fans to kick on in real world on the 14...
