I got my new iMac. I'm concerned about the amount of noise the computers making. In the store the iMac's sounded quite, but this is making allot of noise. How much noise should a iMac make?

It should not make much noise unless you are running a lot of apps.
Try opening Activity Monitor to check your CPU and memory usage. That is usually the problem when people have loud fans, but are not running many apps.

You might want to download smcFan control. It shows the speed of the fans and you can also reduce them.
