Fan noise?

Hello,

I got a MacBook, latest gen (bought in July), Core 2 Duo, and I noticed that there is a whine sound when the CPU is doing nothing, but when I open Photobooth lets say, it goes away.

Also, my fans are running at around 1700-1800 when idle. However, in a quiet room, i can hear them pretty clearly, just the normal fan sound. Oh, and I never see my MB's fan go to the 1600 RPMs anymore...it used to.

Is all of this normal? Or am I just being paranoid?

It is normal for the fans to be audible. Lately I have been going nuts with the fans, Photoshop and Final Cut put my MB in take-off position.
