So, I yanked out the HD that came with my Mac Mini and installed a SSD in its place and put the original drive where the disk tray was (I understand the SSD runs faster in this original drive place, not where the superdrive was). Had no trouble with any of this, but the only issue is: in the original drive I cannot connect the controller fan wire to the board (not long enough) so the fan is just running full speed constantly. This wire is soldered to the drive -- is there any way around this? Technically, I don't even need the fan going much, since the SSD will be the primary drive.

Plenty of people just yank their drives and install SSDs in their place and they can't connect a wire to the fan controller because it wouldn't exist on the SSD so there must be a work-around here. Thanks for reading!
