My Mac Mini intel 1.83ghz has this annoying sound of the fan. It started 5 days after I put SMCfancontrol. The SMCfan control preferences reads as minimum @1500rpm,but on the top of the menu bar reads 5495rpm:confused: how to lessen the noise..before it didnt have this annoying sound:(

Thanks Hellhammer, I tried both, but still the same.:(

Have you deleted SmcFanControl? If you haven't do it now:

How do install and uninstall smcFanControl?

smcFanControl is just an application. So after downloading, and unzipping it, drag it to wherever you want (e.g. the Application Folder). To uninstall it, just drag it into the trash. smcFanControl installs no startup scripts, background processes or daemons.
All changes smcFanControl does to the fan controlling get lost after you shutdown your computer (power off, not restart) or enter standby mode (as far as you don't have smcFanControl running) . Minimum fan speed then falls back to the system defaults values.

Repeat the SMC and PRAM reset if it still persists. After that, try Safe boot

I already deleted the smcfancontrol and reset SMC and PRAM twice. When i turned it on,the fan decreases it speed, but after like a minute it started to increase.
How to safe boot?

thanks

And after you've solved your issue (if you do), take a lesson from this. Forget about these kind of tools. Nothing good actually comes from them. The computer is smarter than the user about these kind of things; it knows when the fans need to be on.

Thanks,i do hope I can resolved the issue...lesson learned:(

Many consumer grade fans are designed for a 10,000 hour lifetime. That's five business years, and so it's possible that your machine's fan is looking at retirement. Those bearings don't last forever.

Also, if you have a pet like a cat or dog that sheds a lot, the fan might be somewhat rehabilitated with a good cleaning.

Thanks for the comment.though I didnt have any pet, may it be cat or dog, I did cleaned already the fan. In fact, cleaned it before the annoying increase of speed/sound.
