Does anyone know of any freeware fan speed control progs I can use on my Core Duo 17" MacBook Pro while running Win XP Home under Bootcamp?.
It may be my imagination but since installing the battery update yesterday the casing of my MacBook (which always ran uncomfortably hot for my liking) seems a lot hotter.

Input Remapper

This program is an input remapper. It also has options for fan speed, keyboard light sensor, and auto brightness sensor. Here is the link http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showforum=78 . Also follow the instructions to remove the apple keyboard driver before installing this. I used this in bootcamp xp before I upgraded to Vista. It works well in Vista also. I have my fans set to 4000 rpm. My macbook pro gets very hot with windows.

1. smcFanControl
2. Set fans to what you want in OS X
3. Restart (Not Shut Down)
4. If fans need to go faster the SMC will increase the speed beyond what you set in OS X
5. ?????
