I just got my MBP yesturday so i'm trying to figure it all out. I searched the forums a little but basically I was wondering if there is a way to alter a configuration file IN LEOPARD to change when the fans kick on. My MBP was pushing 200F and the fans weren't all the way kicked on. NO BUENO! Anywayz, i was thinking at 200F it should be at like 6000RPMs. I don't ever want it to reach that again so i was wondering if you guys could help me out without a 3rd party app.

Why you do not want a 3rd Party App? Many of us use smcfancontroller. Its clean, helpful and does not require memory at all.

Yeah--unless you feel like typing code into the Terminal, you're going to have to use a 3rd party app. Frankly, that would also be far safer than going Terminal commando.

Aight, well i'll take your alls advice then. You're the veterans, i'm the noob  I'm off to download it then :)
