Hi all , i'm here again for ask some help.

1) I have mac pro 2010 with 8 core , i sold all 2 cpu and bought just 1 x5570 , working like charm , i left socket b empty. No problem with this

2) i had to remove all mac pro rams , becouse when i boot.. after 20 seconds or so fan of cpu socket a "where is the 5570" start to spin up as hell.

3) i got 1 stick of ram of corsair 1333 mhz.. an normal memory of 4 gb.... i have it in slot 1 , and with this mac pro fan never spin up ,

her1e is my problem

1) if i put another same ram stick in slot 2... fan spin , if i test the other corsair in slot 1.. it spin...if i use any of 1 gb stick of apple mac pro oem in every slot and in every combination it spin up as hell , allways after 20 seconds or so... also if i put mac pro in stop.. and wake up.. it need 20 seconds or so for spin up... 6000 rpm..seems to stay in airport"i tried any smc fan control so don't tip me on this :)"

2) i bought owc ram 2 stick 4gb 1333 mhz for mac pro , "i know they also got thermal chip" ,nothing i test them in every way , every combination... stil spin up..

3) for be sure.. i tested any other normal ram of gaming desktop . my bro ram high quality.. my gf ram.. my friend ram... it allways spin up.... seems to work only with this stick.... its really stupid.. and strange...

And i have tried any of combination listed above.. with pram reset.. smc reset... i really don't know... someone got idea?

This happend to me when I lost a CPU..

I think, there will need to be some recalibration done..

Run AHT and see what it tells you, my gut says because you have nothing hooked into the temp lead on the logic board you are having issues. why are you not running the second CPU?

ehy

ok i'll make aht.... what it would ever say?... i'll do now

!

it wont even start mate.. it give me this error... 4smc/1/40000000 : smc

allready tried an reset of smc.. but nothing..also done pram reset.. nothing..

quick google search reveals a failing temp. sensor..

You need to put a CPU back in the other socket and plug the heat sink in

you think is all about the 2nd cpu? i read about sensor.. and most of peeps.. say.. send it back to apple.. but my situation is different.. i would be sure that is for socked b empty...since is about 500 $ for buy another 5570 or less...

Yes, I do. You probably ought not have upgraded until you could do both, but it's a little late for all that. You might be able to put one of the shipping dummy's in to protect the socket and lightly attach the heatsink and sensor.

heatsink is attached to sensor.. but not screwed.. i have done that for avoid the dust that would probably fit in to the socket...so the heatsink is connceted

That sucks..so it does actually need the processor in there..

I'm out of great ideas then, turn up the stereo then:D
