I changed the HDD to SSD of my Mac Mini Late 2014 and in the process, I damaged some of the heat sink fins while pulling out the Logic Board and broke the IR connector while disconnecting it.

I need a lot of advise from you guys with this kind of behavior my Mac Mini is showing (1. fan turning ON and OFF every 3~5 secs., 2. not booting or any other activities).

Do I need to replace it or there's still hope?

Thanks in advance.

Even knocking out the thermal sensor wire the Mac will go into emergency mode with fan always running. But this sounds worse than that, needing professional review ($$).

I also did the same upgrade a couple weeks ago and broke the IR connector.

I should have been a little more careful...

I found a used one online for $40.00 and now all is well.

Not sure what else is going on with your fans.... Maybe have another look inside for anything loose or disconnected?

I ripped the IR connector that is attached on the board itself.

I can live without the IR but I can't make it boot. Hopefully somebody will enlighten me with my situation now.

Need to find that thermal sensor wire to check if I touched it, hopefully this can remedy my situation. Thank you for the input.
