Hi, hi just installed a dual tray in my 5.1 (after replacing the two E5620 with two X5680).

Everything is perfect, temperatures are fine and machine is alive and kicking.

The only thing I noticed different from usual behaviour is that fans went on full (not even sure if full but noisy) speed after waking up from sleep. It lasted around ten seconds and went back to normal business.

It's nothing major or something that bothers me more than that...I'm just curious if someone noticed a similar behaviour?

The only other variable is that I installed Macs Fan Control to try some setups. Nothing more. Don't think it's MFC that puts the fans at full speed after sleep. Or yes?

Any idea welcome. Thanks

Why don't you temporarily take MFC offline to see if the behavior can be replicated in that situation ?

The problem you are having with fans may be caused by a mis-match between the SMC version (system) and the SMC version (processor tray). They have to match. You can check this in About this Mac, System Report,
Hardware overview.
