Hello, hope some of the brilliant people on this forum can offer some advice or direction...

I have a Mac Pro 5.1 (2012) which I am trying to upgrade.
Want to replace the current single processor tray with a dual processor tray.
When I installed the dual tray everything worked great for about 24 hours and then suddenly the fans went crazy and started running at full speed.

So I shut down and reset the NVRAM and it worked again for couple days then suddenly without warning fans start running again at full speed

At first Mac Fan Control shows that PCI and PS fans are not 'registering' (see attached screenshot)
Then after reboot Mac Fan Control shows that BOOSTA is not registering and is running high (also attached).
None of the temps look wildly wrong to me?
But now machine won't boot at all - fans run high immediately after pushing power and then shuts down.
But if put the single processor tray back in machine runs 100% - no issues

Any advice or direction would be great, thanks

your Northbridge temperature delta is 14 degrees. Thats a little high. But if one of the push pins is broken you will get much more temperature difference between die and heat sink.

nevertheless, I would repaste the Northbridge if you take the heatsink for cpu A off again.

but I guess this has nothing to do with your boost a zero reading.

Does your SMC Version (system) match your SMC Version (processor tray) in the Hardware Tab of System Information?
