Okay, so I just noticed something today. When I was running Windows XP on my MacBook Pro, it got really hot, and the fans showed no sign of spinning. So, I reboted in Mac OS X, and the fans worked perfectly. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm having the same issue. Fans use to work fine in Windows Vista under boot camp but now they don't work at all.

I will be playing Flight Simulator X for a good 20 minutes and nothing. Usually the fans would kick on right when I load the game. Performance in-game is horrible too as it's obviously throttling back to prevent overheating (although I bet it's still overheating).

Any ideas?

Download SMC Fan Control and set the fans high on the mac side before booting into windows and the fans will stay at the high level while in windows.

I don't think there is another way to get the fans to work.

Yeah, that would work but it's like using a bandaid on a cut off leg. You guys say your fans are not spinning at all? Or just really low? Do they speed up in games? You say MacBook Pro, which one? Early 2008? Late 08?

I mean I've always noticed the fans didn't seem to run idle as high as they do in OS X and that sometimes made it get a little warmer than usual, but they always spun up during games and whatnot. Never experienced the fans absolutely not turn on in either Vista 64 or Windows 7 64.
