ok, so i've had a macbook air since June of this year. it seems that my fans come on from just surfing the internet, and can be on for a lot of the time. also, it takes forever to charge the battery. i'm at 79% right now, and it says 1:54 time remaining to charge.

should i take it into the apple store? or is this normal and i just have to deal with it?

also, it does get pretty hot on my lap as well

thanks in advance

Take it in. Sounds like much more going on with fan (my fan seldom fires up, check out SMC update http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1269) and battery issues...:(

thanks for the reply. after looking over at the apple forums, i see that i'm not alone. i guess i will take it in. the only thing is that the fans aren't up all the time, but while i'm posting this, they are.

has anyone else had this problem around here? should i take it in for repair?

i think i'm going to take it in either way, just to see what they say

well i took it in to the apple store today. i left it there over night for them to run tests on it.

acted like the battery was fine and that it takes longer to charge anyway

My MBA takes approx. 3-4.5 hours. How many cycles do you have on your battery? Try to deep cycle it a few times see if that does anything. GL

the battery charge time is rediculous, my friend air took over 9 hours to recharge but he sent it in and it got replaced, but still it takes like 4-5 hours.

yeah mine takes a lot longer to charge than my macbook pro or my g/f's macbook. and the air is supposed to be the most portable! how can it be portable if i have to charge it all the time?
