MacBookair Air fan starts up automatically and stays on. Tried everything SMC PRAM etc etc
impossible to use any ideas how to stop the fan?

Just finished installing on my MacBook Pro - fans haven't stopped since installing. Gonna let it settle down over night and see how it is in the morning (iCloud still syncing, etc).

Left it shut down for a day, Apple gave me all the usual reset type fixes SMC etc nothing stops the whoosing sound of the fan. Dreading taking it in but it looks like hardware fault as software shut downs and even software updates don't pause the fan for a second.

You need to look at the Activity monitor (CPU) to see what is causing the fans to spin.

Thank you, yes tried that and there's nothing in there causing the fan to start. It starts as soon as you start to boot up
