I've never really used ebay for anything before. My .mac expired tomorrow and I didn't want to pay full price for the renewal. I was super leery of ebay and all the threads talking about fake codes and family pack 'sub accounts'.

Anyway, 2 or 3 sellers were scams! Tried to tell me that the 5GB package was the same as renewing. They wanted to put the code in themselves. Another seller wanted USD 75 PLUS 10% tax.

I'd almost given up when I found a brand new seller. Only 15 feedback. Thought it was yet another scam and was on my way to renew it at full price. Anyway, he responded to my question about 'full or sub' within 5 minutes! I paid for it and got the code literally 3 minutes after I hit 'Buy it Now'

Entered it on .mac and it immediately renewed for another year.

This is just a heads up to fellow members looking for a great deal on MobileMe on ebay. Be careful but there are trusted sellers out there. I paid USD 65 for a full account.

Cheers - eV

Nice. eBay is always filled with liars, its hard to find rare gem sellers.

Would you mind revealing the seller name of this hidden eBay gem? I'm thinking about renewing myself.

Seriously! I'm almost embarrassed to say this but this was my FIRST ebay purchase

I thought the 'power sellers' would be the most reputable. I tried 3 of them and they were the shadiest! This guy only had 15 feedback and had the best response time and honesty from the bunch!

I've asked him to send me emails directly whenever he gets wholesale software etc.

I don't want to promote a ebay seller but if anyone wants his name, PM me. I've been around here long enough that hopefully no one will accuse me of promoting myself or a friend. :)

It's always best to know the good eBay users. So, having a seller memory bank of sorts is always good. I always go back to the same sellers in eBay. I shop a bit often in eBay, which explains me being doubtful of every internet offer or special pricing.:D

:D

I've asked him about Applecare as well. I know, I know - there's so many threads that its stolen codes or stolen cards but who knows. It may not be the super low prices but even if its a normal wholesale discount and I save some cash - I'll go for it.

I'm a complete sucker for honesty! You win my trust, I will come back to you. I asked the guy about the family account 'sub account' auction as well to see what the response would be. And he specifically said that one was cheaper and why!

Aight, I'll stop gushing now. It's a sad commentary on the state of the world and the number of online scams that one simple honest seller makes me so happy. lol
