Just stumbled across this 30 minute video today & thought i‘d share.

Some really interesting points touched on during the creative process & the keynote itself...which still gives me goosebumps when the crowd reacts to scrolling/pinch to zoom for the first time...

Any other iPhone documentaries worth checking out?

Thanks for sharing!!! It's hard to believe it's only been 12/13 years since the first iPhone was launched/introduced.

The palms, windows, blackberry's of the world were VERY BRUTAL to use in hindsight... So yeah, thank you again Apple for all you have done.

It's crazy to think where we can go from here!?!?!?

I loved how they came up with gestures from simple things we already used - the unlock gesture for eg.

How they merged what we were already doing with IOS‘s GUI was genius.

Indeed, ColdFusion makes some of the best documentaries on YouTube. Watched this a few weeks ago and was thoroughly impressed by the in-depth detail.

I cringe so much when I see the videos of people like Mike Lazaridis and Steve Ballmer simply talk about the iPhone like it was going to just be a minor passing fad, lol.

Scary how arrogant they all were.

What is interesting to me is how other phone makers reacted, Samsung are one of the unsung leaders of that era. Samsung were already on Nokia’s heels in 2007 and Samsung diversified their product offering around that time almost as though they could see what was coming.

Truly interesting time in Mobile.

Nokia had so many chances to lead Smartphone Touch UI throughout the early 2000s and they just kept sidestepping it until Apple adopted it and killed them off with it. Anyone who remembers Symbian UIQ that Sony Ericsson were working on will know what I mean, had that received more more investment, we may have had more of a 3 horse race going on right now, but Nokia were stubborn and Sony and Ericsson really lost their way after the P990 and were not investing enough in UIQ, and when Nokia acquired Symbian it was all over.

They had done the same thing previously with clamshell phones.

Apple really saved us from the carriers and what I'm sure would've been a much more dismal future.

Samsung will always be a player, cause they're always willing to do what's necessary.

I wish there were something to wow me like Apple did back in 2007. Lately the releases don't really impress all that much. Where's that next big thing (no, Samsung, not referring to you!)?
