Quick and maybe stupid question. When fast charging, wired or wireless, is there an indication that it is doing it. With Samsung, if you wake the screen, it states that is fast charging. Does IOS have an indicator of some kind?

So even the battery icon doesn't change? Just shows a lightning bolt? Or maybe you need 11.2 to know.

Agreed, no acknowledgement. I returned a wireless charger because it also wasn't as fast as being plugged in.
Wireless charging will never be as fast as plugging in. In addition, if you are not running iOS 11.2, fast wireless charging isn’t even enabled.

I understand it won't be as fast, but I love the convenience. I am running the public beta and it should be enabled. I just wish there was some kind of indication that fast charge was working, don't really have the time at work to keep checking %, and calculating time.
point is, im not buying into the its gotta be morphie or apple product as if they are using the standard than any stand/pad with the correct wattage adapter should provide the 7.5 watts. I just want to see if apple stands by a spec they didn't create or not. and in indicator would help with that.

If you have a charger with at least a 7.5W output, you’re fine (10W seems better because about 25% of the energy is lost to heat). Just make sure to use a 2A plug.
The indicators you need to check are the specs on the plug and charger.

I have mophie and will give my new 8 a test. Also try with larger charger. Read somewhere had to be USB-C to lightning charger. Try with the iPad charger too.

There really are good battery monitors on Android to show charging values, there should be one in Apple App Store?
