Alright, I found a thread a couple of days ago that had a link to make mouses move faster on Macbooks - maybe specifically Windows mice, I can't remember.

Anyway, now I can't find it!

Help?!

It was my thread

It was my thread, and the 'fix' didn't work. I think apple just did it to annoy me enough to buy an apple mouse. Well, it worked. I was advised to get a driver from microsoft, something already installed on the macbook. As far as I can tell, and I have searched far and wide, it is just an un-fixable scam.

Okay, thanks for the replies!

I'll try the link and get back to ... the thread? Hopefully I won't have to resort to buying another mouse.

Well, it definitely moves faster, but it still lags when I'm clicking on precise points (small icons, links, etc.). I guess I'm off to get a different mouse ....

My PC Line optical USB moust runs perfectly on my MacBook Pro. No problems here. Only use it for gaming though, I really like the MacBook Pro's trackpad...

Well, I called Applecare, and the guy suggested the only thing to do other than replace was to check for new drivers (seems obvious, but with everyone saying they're already installed, or there wouldn't be any new ones, the thought slipped my mind). So I did and ... not quite a miracle, but it's definitely better. We'll see if it works in the long term!
