There are times at work when I need to burn audio CD's as fast as possible. What is the fastest way? I know about the prefered burn speed in iTunes prefs and I have that set on "maximum possible" but is there anything else I can do?

TIA

Not that I know of.

Just for your info, burning at the fastest speed possible does not always produce good results. You may end up with more 'coasters' this way. This is especially true of DVDs.

Have the music in aiff format so there is no conversion from mp3>aiff - it only takes a small amount of time compared to the burning (but if every millisecond counts).

Use Toast to burn (I find it faster and more reliable than iTunes).

Main thing is get a 5.25" drive in a Firewire case - if right now you only have been using the slot-drive in your MBP.

Also only use high quality media if you must burn at the fastest speeds (good brands are Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim Data-Life + with Azo-dye).
