Fastest Backup App?

I'm running MacOS Catalina on a 16" MBP. What's the fastest backup app out there? CCC? How fast is the fastest backup app? Fast enough to take advantage of an NVME SSD over Thunderbolt 3? Or would it still be slow enough where a SATA SSD over USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 would make more sense?
