Fastest SATA 3 SSD?

Hiya,
I am in need of an SSD for my new Mac Pro. I'll be using 2 in RAID 0 for the OS and applications. I use the Mac Pro for Audio Engineering/Production. I thought the OCZ Vector 150 was the fastest, but I need to be sure!

Fastest at what? (read/write random/sequential large/small compressible-data/noncompressible-data....)

I like the Intel 910s for pure speed - just ordered 5 more.

The Intel 910s, are they just put 4x200G SSD in software RAID 0 to achieve this speed?

Pair of Samsung 840 "Pro's" should do the job very well.
Or VERY similar spec and cheaper, the 840 EVO's - they get within
10% of the "Pro" transfer rates for a good 30% cheaper.

In Raid 0 you will see upwards of 800MB/s ... I'm happy with my single SSD
@ around 450MB/sec
Samsung have a great rep also BTW.

I would not get the EVO for a RAID setup. Then you make like a RAID of 2 FUSION drives, which the EVO in a way is: Fusion of fast SSD and slow SSD.
The EVO is very close in speed on small files, until the 3-9GB cache is filled, then it has to start moving data around and drops to 840 regular levels, around 250MB/s r/w.

So with Samsung, stick to the Pro models.

2 SSDs in Raid 0 using the Sata2 bus on a mac pro will only achieve ~550MB/s. To go faster in a cMP, you need to use a Raid 0 PCIE card like the card from OWC. I think people have posted 900+ MB/s. If using the Mac Pro bus, then any decent SSD will achieve the 550.

I run an internal RAID-0 SSD in my Mac Pro on a Sonnet Tempo Pro PCIe card and have tested external Thunderbolt RAID-0 disks on my iMac using a Promise Pegasus J4 4-drive 2.5" enclosure and a Akitio Thunderbolt Duo external powered enclosure. Here are some speeds for comparison...

503 / 906 ---- Crucial M4 512GB SSDs on Sonnet PCIe in Mac Pro (1TB)
807 / 957 ---- Samsung 840-Pro 256GB SSDs on Sonnet PCIe in Mac Pro (512GB)

545 / 856 ---- Samsung 840-Pro 256GB SSDs in Pegasus J4 Thunderbolt (512GB)
682 / 754 ---- Samsung 840-Pro 256GB SSDs in Akitio Thunderbolt Duo (512GB)

It completely depends on your budget.

Samsung 840 Pro is your rich, Crucial M5 if on a budget.

Do you really require the fastest one? Cause for normal use/application you are not going to get those burst speeds they advertise.
