Hey guys, i got my iPhone 6 last month and have tried out two different screen protectors (both tempered glass). After a few weeks both of the screen protectors developed this gap (idk what to call it) on this particular area. idk if its the screen or its just normal that tempered glass start to stick out after some time. Here are some pics to what i am referring.

This is called edge lift. This is common and related to one of the suppliers of the iPhone screen. I doubt apple with replace it, but there are screen protectors out there that should work. iLoome informed me of this problem as my phone has it really bad. I found that having a thinner glass protector and a case that clamps worked well. I used arcadia for the screen protector because at the time, it was one of the thinnest. My case is the Ballistic Tungsten. I think the key again is to find a thinner screen protector and a case that will hold it down until the adhesion holds better.

An alternate is not to use glass, of course, or wait until curved glass protectors come out.

Edge lift it is! so its not my phone right? i hope it isn't :p. But i can't figure out why on that particular spot always? I mean for like two times i faced the same issue.

It looks like it was installed slighty over the front facing camera. Maybe that caused the issue you're experiencing?

Naah, its installed just fine, its just the angle of the image taken. Also as i mentioned happened with my previous tempered glass too.

----------

slight deviation in the quality of glass? Dust?

It does look like dust. And i don't think its because of quality of glass. i think its because of rounded edges that caused the adhesive to not settle properly as mentioned earlier. Although i still don't have any idea why only in that particular spot and that also both the times with two diff protectors. Also still have no idea if edge effect means my screen is damaged or the protector is not sticking properly. if someone could shred some light on that ill be really glad

Could you explain a bit about this edge lift? Is it something with my screen? cause my screen looks fine to me. i checked it on both sides and it seems normal.( i did see images of iPhone 6 in which screen is lifted from a side).

I had what looks to be similiar to that on my screen protector (Benks .20mm). You can barely see it in the photo below (line along the corner):

It would increase in size if I pressed down with enough force but went away after a few days. After a couple weeks I can no longer get it to appear even if I press down. This is a full front screen protector though, so I am not sure if that makes a difference in your specific situation.

You can confirm it by installing a second screen protector...it should lift in the same location. I highly doubt that Apple will swap the phone. Basically, not all screens are perfectly flat due to the curved edge on it. Some are worse than others. I don't know how they make this, but if they are using molds, that would explain it as they can be imperfect. More than likely, it starts flat and heat is used to mold the glass, but as it cools, the glass will warp a little. This happens with metals and wood as well.

edit: You can look at your screen or put it on a flat surface, but the warping of the flat part of the screen is almost undetectable except by placing a flat piece of glass with adhesion on it. It will look like exactly what you see with a glass screen protector.

Get a clamping case to use for a while. Glass is actually a amorphous solid (think liquid properties) so while the case will resolve the left for the short term, over time, then glass will actually mold to fit the screen better.

Alright so it is the screen itself cause as i mentioned i already used two diff screen protectors and had the same issue. You're rite abt the part that apple won't replace it. guess ill try with the case.

yeah i can see it on the edge of it. Looks kinda same. Is this photo taken now when its gone or is it from time u had it there?

Would it need to be a hard plastic case or a transparent rubber one would work too? I personally don't like to use any protective cases on my phones. Loses all their texture and feel.

The rubber will probably work better. Finding a good case will be the problem. I'd recommend getting a Ballistic Tungsten as it does the job fine and if you think you will ever do something outdoors that you need the protection, that will cover you.

If you get a thin enough screen protector, it should only be a temporary thing. I would recommend keeping that case on for a month or two.

That was when I had it there (the first or second day I had the glass protector). It is no longer visible currently even if I press on the glass.

Which is the case you are using? Looks really nice ;)

Glad to hear that
