What is your favorite lion feature, small or big. Just something so I can come back here and find cool things to try out that I might have missed
 
No Rosetta!!

ok seriously um.. Mission Control + Spaces are cool. That and the new Finder is nice.
 
Mail 5 or the improved Quick Look.

No, the scroll bars.

No, wait, right click > New Folder with Selection

The fact that it manages memory like iOS. No need to worry about paging to my SSD. And resume is awesome too!
 
I have no specific favourite, but a couple of things that make my life better and thus me happy:
- Proper full-disk encryption that actually works really well
- The security of the screensaver password is much improved (done by LoginWindow now); also the password is also much purtier. And exiting it feels decidedly faster than it used to.
- While at the WWDC keynote, the presenters lauded Mail's conversations feature, I actually think the improved search they showed right before that is much more awesome (and I think it got more applause, too.)
- Screensaver/display sleep no longer quits on mouse movement (prevents the oft-occurring spurious input from optical mice from causing your displays to wake up in the middle of the night.)

I have a 15" MacBook Pr, a Book Arc and a Cinema Display. Most of the time I only use the big screen since having 2 displays running at the same time slows it all down, so I'm not bothered about that. However, I'm sure Apple will fix that issue at some point.
 
The fact that the login window has been updated for the first time in a decade...

Of course. But once you do, it's useless because it kills your ability to use the second monitor. And admittedly, something could be said for this in many cases (the point of having Pages full-screen would be to get rid distractions, for instance). But in other cases it just gets in the way, such as that you are now no longer able to put quicktime full-screen on a second screen. The closest you can get is by making that screen's wallpaper black (luckily now an option without having to go through the trouble of making a black wallpaper image) and putting the quicktime window on it exactly centered and at the right size.

That's a lot of trouble to go through.

So far as I'm concerned I hope they put in the option of disabling this full-screen nonsense entirely (reverting to pre-lion behaviour) and re-introduce the option to disable Spaces (which also has problems making it unusable for some people.)

Feels like a good place to ask this question I have, as you guys are obviously into the details!

I haven't really seen much about Stacks in Lion what with all the Mission Control / Launchpad and such talk, but I'm pretty sure all that stuff is still there on the side.... Have they fixed nested sorting in List view in Stacks? In SL if you set it to, e.g. sort by kind, it will work for only the top level of the stack - they broke this between Leopard and Snow Leopard and I'd really like if it was fixed again in Lion - in fact that might become my favourite thing :). Cheers.
 
And while at it, how about this one: has TextEdit FINALLY got the ability to save plain text with Windows line-endings? Going via AppleScript Editor is an unnecessarily annoying step.

I don't know about Lion, but you could simply use TextWrangler. It's far more powerful than TextEdit.
 
And that's why I'd rather not. I downloaded it a while ago and the preferences really confused me, and I couldn't get it to be just right down to basics or to save window position/settings. TextEdit I use as I do Notepad on Windows; unfortunately the two just don't talk to each other that well.
