iPhone 7/Plus favorites messages not working

guys - my favorite people calls come through when in DND mode but messages (texts) do not. Is this a bug? I'm on iphone 7 latest version

You have to go to the contacts you want to allow texts while on DND. So tap the contact-Edit-go to where it says text tone and turn on emergency bypass.

ok so favorites calls come through on dnd even without using emergency bypass. Did IOS 10 change the function on texts because they used to come through too
