I have a question about Final Cut Pro.

Back in 2010, I edited a short video in Final Cut Pro, but never actually rendered the final cut. But I still have the FCP project file and the raw media files. But unfortunately the new and improved version of Final Cut Pro doesn't appear to accept the FCP project file. It tells me the 'document could not be opened. Final Cut Pro cannot open files of this type.' So, this can't be right. Don't tell me the old project files are incompatible with the new Final Cut Pro. So, what's the workaround with this issue? I refuse to believe that that's it, throw away the FCP because there's nothing you can do.
