Is there a way to change the duration of a clip (say an audio clip) to that of another clip (say a video clip) by using the mouse only and not by inputing the exact time?
For example by dragging part of the clip to the size of the other clip? Whenever I try to do this it extends/shrinks the clip by removing/adding part of it I had already cut. I do not want that.
I am sure there is some easy way to do it but I can't figure it out.
Perhaps some key combination while moving the edge of the clip or something?

Can you say more? I'm not sure how you can change the length of an audio clip. Video clips can be sped up (shortened) or slowed down (lengthen) or extended with a freeze. Audio can be lengthened a bit, but with some audio editing cleverness.

Click on the clip you want to change and press Command R. This will bring up the retime control and you can drag it longer or shorter (this will change pitch of course).

I am not sure what you don't understand.

I just did this and it doesn't help. The audio clip just expands to include parts of it that were previously cut from the clip on the timeline. Unless I misunderstood what you are suggesting to do, it doesn't do what I want.

When you press command R a small green line will appear above the clip. Drag the clip from the end of that line, not the edge of the clip. Should do the trick
