One thing that I hope beta testers do, is submit feedback to Apple regarding feature requests and bugs. This is one of the most direct ways to voice your opinion to Apple for features you want, or to submit bugs you see.

Purpose of this thread / poll
Create a list of features MacRumors members would like to see in future versions of iOS.
  • Using the poll Vote for features you would like to see from Apple
  • Post a feature you would like to see included in iOS (one per post, but follow the forum rules to prevent over posting)
  • Vote for other’s feature suggestions using the like button under their post. Enough likes will have that suggestion added to the poll

Details
Since this is a discussion forum with the ability to like posts, we can use that functionality to help find and vote on requested features our community hopes Apple will add to iOS. These features can come from anywhere, your personal need, something you like from MacOS, Android, Windows, etc.

Provided the thread can keep some structure, we could do something as simple as using the voting buttons under posts to judge the popularity of Each requested feature, from which I (or perhaps another Moderator) can edit the thread poll to add the feature request. Depending on the popularity of the topic, the threshold for adding requested features may change.

Be sure to keep within the forum rules with regards to what / how you post, but if you have a feature request, please put only one in your post. This will make it easier to count post votes which will be a threshold to add it to the post poll.

No idea how popular (or not) this thread will be, so to start lets make a threshold of 4 post votes, in order for a new feature request to be added to the poll.

4 post likes will make your suggestion eligible for inclusion to the poll (this number is subject to change)

Suggested way to post your requested feature
Feature Request

Feature
(Example) Add the ability to edit / add new ringtones within the device

Use / Reason (not required)
(Example) Would love to be able to skip iTunes if I want to create / edit / add, my own ringtone

Since discussion is encouraged within this thread, please be sure your Suggestions are clearly defined so people know what posts to like. This is not an official MacRumors thread, simply a general poll / discussion around the topic of iOS.

::Edit::

  • Ability to change default apps added to poll. Posted by @DaPizzaMan

Feature Request

Feature
The ability to set my own default apps.

Use
I want my phone to autoplay from the Spotify app rather than the Apple Music app. I want the new email/compose popup from the Outlook app rather than the Apple Mail app.

Feature

The ability to toggle off the additional widgets screen left of the home screen.

Use

I would prefer to disable the second widgets screen, as it seems redundant considering the Today view in the Notification Center pane. I would rather not devote system resources to rendering another page, which seems more like clutter.

As a side implementation to promote ease of access, reinstate the default position memory (widgets vs. notifications) based on what was last accessed in Notification Center.

FEATURE:
notification indicator

I would love to have a blinking indicator, possibly the rear flash when a notification is pending. I know you can enable the flash to blink for these things but, it only blinks while it’s happening. I don’t want to wake the screen to check for missed notifications..

I’ll add another to the list:

Dark UI for notifications.

I don’t necessarily need a system-wide dark mode. I would, however, like to see notifications that emulate those while in Smart Invert mode. I think that looks pretty slick.

I’ve always jailbroken my iOS devices. I have never upgraded my phone until their wAs a jailbreak available. Not really sure why I grabbed the 8 before the JB was released by I did. I think stock iOS if I’m 100% honest is a bit ridiculous. So he’s what I’d like to see.

Ability to create and apply ringtones on the device.

Ability to organise photos on the device.

Folders in folders.

Toggles I actually want in control centre.

Ability to set my own default apps.

Ability to hide app names (they make the home screen look unbelievably messy and cluttered).

Date in the status bar.

Ability to arrange icons how I want.

That’s just off the top of my head. When they’re all implemented I’ll stop jailbreaking. Until then I hope the JB is our soon.

Feature
Multiple user accounts, especially on iPad

Use / Reason (not required)
It would be great to be able to share an iPad among the family/household, with each person having their own account with their own apps, data and services.

MOD/OP: double posts are merging, how can i submit multiple ideas that can be voted on separately?
