So now you can remove a photo from the featured gallery but Still no way to add them.
how inconvenient.

This. Photos you „Love“ seem to appear more frequently though, if that‘s something you want to try.

The problem is that Photos (still) lacks any sort of Star Ratings. So without a way to rank or promote photos then it does make the featured photos a lot more random than it should be.

The idea of featured photos is fantastic. But screenshots, blurry, unedited or inappropriate photos end up as “featured” a bit too often so some manual suggestions would actually help.

mine have been the same four photos since the feature launched in ios14. It would be nice to add some more for variety.

That doesn’t sound right. The featured photos should automatically update when you charge your iPad/iPhone.
