Features not working after QuickPwn.

I have an 8GB iPhone 3G with QuickPwn and 2.2. After updating it and installing QuickPwn, I am expireincing a few problems, the largest of which being that I can't use the phone icon on the lower left hand corner. I touch it and it shows the keypad and then simply returns to the Springboard. I cannot type numbers or check my contacts from there. Is there something important I missed when jailbreaking it? These features are fairly important, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I also can't access the phone options when on the phone, eg. I can't end calls or turn on speaker etc.

Try restoring and re-jailbreaking.

uninstall erica or kate utility from installer, forgot which one but uninstall them

ah! it makes sense now! After installing Kate utility i had the same exact problem. Phone wouldn't work can't check contacts, nothing. I had problems rejailbreaking after but if i had known this i would have just uninstalled the program.
Try uninstalling kate and let us know what happens.
