Afraid

This is just what I am afraid of... that no one will be here to sign or I won't have put the permission slip out for the driver because I had no clue he was on his way... Just got to wait I guess... sure hate waiting..

If you miss the delivery you can pick it up from your local fedex location. I believe you can contact Fedex and have them drop it off at a fedex/kinkos or fedex location fro you.

Heh mine is still in "Package Data Transmitted to FedEx" for the last 24 hours, I was hoping they send it yesterday so it would've been here by Friday, now I gotta wait till Monday or Tuesday....

However, does FedEx ship iMacs on weekends like Saturday? Because my USB cable from Apple is coming on Saturday yet my iMac still doesn't give me a commitment date...

Stop complaining. Took me almost 2 weeks to get my Mac from china :( No fair. Whats really frustrating is Apple have an assembly plant here in Ireland where I live.
Why couldn't it come from there and I coulda had it in a day or two? :(
Oh well

be nice

We all suffer in our own way, or ways. Right now I am suffering because FedEx has not updated the site, and I have no clue if they lost either the instruction to pick up my baby or if they lost the baby, or or or or or.... just want the iMac here. Safe and sound.

Nice photos by the way... Mr I live in Ireland... must be nice... I'm in Las Vegas where it is raining today..

Not sure

If your in the States then why isn't your Mac coming from there? Just curious. I thought Apple made Mac's in the US or am I wrong?

My first iMac, the one I am on now, came from China; shipping showed it leaving China and going to Alaska, then to California and on to me here in Nevada. Took all of three days. This time the tracing data still and only says that FedEx was instructed to pick something up. I suspect that it will be delivered then the data will get populated all at once, or that is what I hope. My fear is that nothing is happening at all.

Now as for where they are made, I can not imagine that they are made in the US at all; but I have no factual information on that at all. Not even sure how to find out. Do you know?

No I have no idea where you find out. I only know there made here in Ireland because my friend works down in the plant.
I'm sure there are some people here on the forums who know if there made in the US or not. hmmm....

Update and kind of alert !!!!

Finally called Apple and they said Shanghai was evacuated for either a tidal wave or super storm and my iMac has NOT shipped in all these days... What can you do about Mother Nature... nothing. But they upgraded the shipping to 2-Day air. So no new 2.8 iMac till next week... Beginning to wish it had come from Ireland. Boo whooooooo:(

Well I called in today, Apple told me that FedEx doesn't update their commitment correctly or on time..

So they told me that the iMac has shipped out and will be here on the 24th of Monday *sigh, I was hoping for a weekend Macness* but I'm grateful that I'm not like the MBP buyers that had to wait like 3-4months for their MBPs...

Anyways, not to jinx it *crossing my fingers* it would suck if it came with tons of dead/stuck pixels everywhere...

Oh and tell me more about the Shanghai incident and where do Apple usually ship their iMacs from?

not really sure

I had heard that a fierce storm was headed that way and that all towns on the ocean were being evacuated... then the Apple rep said very much the same thing... I guess on this side of the 3rd Rock we get ours from China...

Finally

Just got my morning surprise when I discovered that it is in route :D. I was not expecting any changes in status till Monday... but it is on its way to Las Vegas. There is no estimated delivery date as yet, hopefully that will show up soon.
