Well my iPad is scheduled to be delivered tom, and the FedEx site says it will be delivered by noon.

I was just wondering what time I should get up, as I am a heavy sleeper, so I most likely will miss the delivery guy if I am sleeping.

Im guessing 8, but I don't know, this is the first time FedEx is delivering to my house.

I live in Canada if that matters.

From my experience in the US, the earliest that they have delivered to me is about 9:15AM or so.

Thanks. Im getting a little worried as my iPad is still in customs across the country...

The site still promises a July 14 delivery tho.

it's a well-known fact that all FedEx deliveries are made simultaneously and then the drivers hit the express-delivery bars to congratulate themselves on another job well done.

Im not asking for a specific time. I am wondering what is the earliest the can come. If it is 7, I dont wanna wake up at 10...

It's a legit question with a bunch of idiotic answers. Anyways, you should wake at 8 AM as I doubt it'll be before that. I do not know an approx. time but 8 AM is a good time to get up and do your household chores... it's bound to come sooner or later right?

I get 2-3 deliveries a week and they vary from 9AM to 3PM in Boston. Did you really think you would get an even close approximation by starting this thread?

He wasn't looking for the time, just basically - "what is the earliest they could show up?"

He admits to never having had a delivery before, so I could see how you'd have that glimmer of uncertainty in the unknown.

To the op, around here it would be 9 at the earliest. But our freight drives up from Orlando which is about an hour away, and then gets sorted. Then it depends on where you fall on the route. But even my rocking' UPS guy in CA who did our regular when he did his express couldn't get to us before 9am.

Enjoy the iPad!!!

Also, in the states you can print a "pre sign" paper from the apple order page. Supposedly if you tape it to the door they will be able to leave the package. I would assume you have that option up north too. Its too late for today since you won't see this until you get up anyway :D

That option should be available in Canada as well. At work, we do all our shipping by FedEx with much of it into Canada. FedEx does their own Express deliveries in Canada but FedEx Ground hands off to a contracted service at the Canadian border. Since they do their own Express deliveries they should have the same service options.

I just checked and, yes, Canada does have a signature release program:

Well thanks for the answers. I decided to play it safe and I woke up at 8. I decided to take saberahul's advice and do some chores. Well its 10:30, still no FedEx man...

But at least I have the rest of the day to play with my new toy:D

Will Fedex let you pre-sign for the delivery? If so, maybe just print out the form, sign it and tape it to your front door tonight.
