FedEx getting " huge " international shipment end of Next Week

I get all my deliveries to work, when he came in to drop off my iPad case, he mentioned he had alot of these.

i told him what it was, and i told him he should be getting the 3G's soon.
he said that they were told and expecting a Huge International shipment comming in at the end of next week.

" oh, were told to expect a really big international shipment at the end of next week, must be what that is, i thought it was from the volcano "

just posting this from people freaking out over when they will get their ipads. fedex isnt even getting it before the end of next week

if your on good terms with the fedex driver, ask him in relation to the big international shipment next week. ( im first name basis with him and he knows where i work to where i dont even have to be at the company location to receive it. iv been around the block and have signed for stuff, lol )

We're getting them on April 30. This was explicitly stated I'm the press release.I don't understand why people seem to think that this is still a mystery.

Yes, they'll probably be getting them around Thursday morning (here in the us) so that they can get themout to individual depots to get to delivery friday morning.

Though...why would your drive know? Don't understand why they'd tell driers "we Are getting a large intenational shipment" unlessot was I'm a fairly large metropolitan area like LA or NYC

yea i knew from apples statement on when gettign it. and i am not in the " Hey wonder when we will be getting it cause my cards been charged" group, i have pre orderd alot of stuff from Apple, if they say deliverd on the 30th it will be verry rare to get it before that

and driver knows because alot of them are contrators, not employed by fedex and get payed per package, they own their own routes, the "Fedex Trucks" are the drivers property, not fedex owned. they tell them so they can be prepared / hire more drivers if needed ( may just be Ground drivers though, not express )

the point of this thread is what i said above, the people freakin out going , OMG my card was charged, or When will it arrive, or i check the site everyday for a shipped tracking, bla bla bla bla

literally from Fedex, they are not getting them in till Wed/Thuresday. so people can stop freakin out on when it will ship.

That's still earlier than "Friday morning-afternoon" delivery. They might even get them on Thursday, but they have to wait till Friday to deliver.

we get all our deliveries around 11ish, and open @ 10, so any earlier and i wont be here, as far as the holding it till friday, if he has to hold it till fri then im not going to bug him to get it earlier, im patient, ill get it when i get it

You know there will be a thread about someone calling in and speaking to the pilot directly as he flies from China. Then to the ground crew before he lands, then distribution center, etc. etc.

So, this thread is perfectly fine. Instead of checking the shipping status, and freaking out that it hasn't shipped out on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, it's clear for me.

FedEx is getting a huge international shipment? I may be wrong, but they get international shipments all the time! Who say's the shipment is from apple. I can think of several big name companies that ship in huge volumes, nintendo, sony, samsung, etc. This doesn't mean anything what so ever. My local grocery store is getting a huge shipment of groceries. Does this mean I won't go hungry.

yes it is possable Fedex is informing their drivers of the DSI's that are going to gamestop in the same 2 day perioud Apple announced the delivery of the 3G

anything that goes high volume like that ships via their own trucks, not Fedex, unless its a gamestop type place. walmart/BestBuy/Grocerystore gets their shipments via their own trucks, not Fedex.

unless its along the lines of nintendo or sony or samsung shipping a bunch of pre-orders to customers that orderd online, and as far as i know, nobody else has announced delivery of a new/majorly backorderd item during that week, let alone 2-3 day perioud

but hey, if i was told wrong info, then i was told wrong info, i didnt ask the driver, he was interested in what it was that he had many of, i told him and said the actuall devices would be comming in next week, he said they were told of a big internation shipment comming in toward the end of next week and that must be what it was
