Fedex Shipping UGH!!!

So I got the refurb 2.8 Imac and Apple is telling me that its going to be delivered today. Fedex is telling me its not going to be here until TUE. So I called and she said the reason is that fedex does not ship Sat,Sun, OR MONDAY. What kind of "shipping" company does not ship 3 days out of the week.:eek:
 
Whoa... that's not normal.

FedEx ships on Saturday, but not Sunday or Monday... at least they did...

Maybe they've cut back to save costs. I remember recently the USPS petitioning for a change in their rules so that they could cut Tuesday out of their mail delivery days.
 
not sure where you're at, but i have macbooks coming in today on ground shipping and fedex confirmed it will be delivered today (saturday). (nyc)
 
Yup, FedEx can be frustrating.
I ordered a 2.66 Refurb on Thursday, 2-day air, and according to the tracking it arrived in Portland, ME (my city) at 1am last night and is "At dest sort facility"... but I won't get it 'till Monday.
Apparently you have to pay extra for Saturday delivery. That's what I gather from what I googled on the subject.

I also called FedEx to see if I could pick up the package, but the representative claimed it was not in my shipping facility yet. I didn't want to argue with her, so I just accepted it and figured I'd wait a bit longer...

I don't know why they're saying no Monday delivery for you? Maybe that's on standard ground shipping? The woman definitely confirmed with me that my package would be arriving on Monday.

I ordered a 2.8 refurb Thursday afternoon, and it arrived at my local sort facility this morning. I paid for overnight, but apparently Apple says "overnight from when it is shipped", which apparently didn't happen Thursday (left Apple on Friday), so now its getting delivered Monday. Thats a big problem, as I'm away for a week starting Sunday (which is why I had it sent overnight in the first place). Not sure what will happen - it may get sent back to Apple if no one signs for it...

I am in the same boat, FedeX blows. I ordered overnight....


Here's something order overnight from Amazon and guess what its here the next day!

Oy, that's no good.

I believe there is some sort of form you can print, sign, and leave at your door authorizing FedEx to leave it there. You can even put special instructions like "Leave at back door", from what I gather.

Any neighbors that can sign for it?

I'm definitely bummed out. Knowing my new computer is literally 10 minutes away from me sitting in a cold warehouse. Blech!
 
UPS ships 5 days of the week.
Anything that the stores get on Saturday that's not air, will be shipped on Monday.

Air goes 6 days of the week.

Well since we have no idea who you are throwing the question out to, I will just say that FedEx makes plenty of Monday deliveries (the majority of their various services have Monday delivery). The only service I see that does not have Monday delivery is ground shipments to residences ("FedEx Home Delivery").
