For those who have already received their 15-inch Powerbooks, how is the resolution and is the display in fact brighter than the previous Powerbook.. The local Apple Store doesn't have them out yet to look at and would appreciate any feedback.. Also, has anyone confirmed the 'NEW' battery life, are you at least getting 3 ~ 3.5 hours.. :D

Great photos -- the difference is quite amazing (refering to both brightness and screen area). I think I'll wait till the Intel Powerbooks before I get one, but it's so great to know they'll come with these beautiful new displays.

I'd love to see a similar comparison of the 15" PowerBooks ... very little if any info anywhere about the increased brightness of those.

I think based on what Apple has actually said / stated on their site we can deduce two facts:

1. the 15" screens are brighter than the previous model's screens were.

2. the 15" screens are not as bright as those of the 17" (46% brighter) or Apple would have certainly advertised it as well.

I think it's safe to say that the 15" screens are not even close to the 46% increase in brightness - I did see in another forum thread a mention of 26% that was given by a Apple Store phone rep ...
