I switched to Apple from Windows in March, 2006. At first I used my MBP for school only. Now I use it for moderately high def video and graphics editing. A tower is best, but I want to stay portable, and can only afford one.

Do you think that this is a good switch?

I am switching from this

I don't think it will be worth it, you will only get a 25% boost in speed. I was heavily considering upgrading also and I am an impulse buyer But when I did a little research I knew that it wouldn't be that much faster and I would be disappointed at how little the speed boost was.

I almost didn't buy it for that reason, but I was eventually sold on the hardware upgrades. We'll see.
