Hi,

I have just purchased an ibook g3 600 Mhz with 640 mgb of ram on os 10.4.8, it should arrive on Thursday. I was wondering if I am going to find it hard to use after my C2D Imac, i will only be using it for browsing the internet and checking emails. Will boot time and switching between programs be unbearably slow? Am I kidding myself that the 640 Mgbtes of ram will make it okish?

Any help appreciated.

Until a few weeks ago I had a 500Mhz G3 iBook that I used for occasional surfing, email checking and some light word processing. It worked fine for these purposes – of course, it was slow when it came to using more demanding apps but unless you're wanting to do anything too strenuous with it you should be alright.

my c2d mb boots up amazingly fast but i have no experience with older Apples, but i couldn't imagine your ibook being quicker than this
