I have a 2010 6-Core 3.33GHz Mac Pro5,1 for sale, with the new models I have no idea what price point to sell. Here's the configuration:

- 256GB OWC Mercury EXTREME Pro 6G SSD Boot
- 12TB's HDD's (2x 4TB's, 2x 2TB's)
- LG Blu-Ray burner with Lightscribe
- USB 3.0 CalDigit PCIe
- ATI Radeon 5780
- 16GB DDR3 RAM

Only caveats, AppleCare just expired, and it's a previous gen. I plan on selling it on eBay and Craigslist, with a Wacom Intuos4 and a ton of app's. I've only seen a similar model on eBay for $2999, but feel that's a bit steep given the situation.

that one you see is isellimacs and they usually get there asking price due to there reputation..if you start a ebay bidding auction you might get 2000-2200 out of your machine.

That's about what I [feared] thought. It's amazing how much the prices have tumbled since the relaunched model(s). I used to resale my systems and pay a minimal difference for an upgrade, guess that may happen when the time comes to upgrade my Mac Pro6,1.

Thanks for the advice!

I'd unbundle items as well plus eBay buyers don't really pay a premium for tons of apps unless you're also giving them the installer disks/codes since they lose all apps on an OS reinstall.

In the past, I've always burned all installed app's onto DVD's or throw in a USB drive, which ever was more cost effective. I've also installed the system to the buyers desired specs. It seems like a lot of extra work, however it almost always pays off. I once sold a 2009 27" iMac in 2011 that was selling online at avg ~$900, for $2400. I threw in a few thousands in app's w/ discs, licenses and at the last minute it went into a bidding war.

I couldn't believe how much it sold. The buyer(s) were a couple in the Keys who run a haunted tours business and both their PowerMac G5's went down, they needed something ASAP. I felt badly so I spent 2 days straight loading them up with extra's, installing, and customizing their system so all they had to do was power on, change their system password and were good to go. They were so thankful they kept in touch, I helped them out with some web design, it was fun. :)

I doubt I'd have that much luck with my system. However, given it's in great shape w/ USB 3.0, HDMI, an internal LG Blu-Ray burner/Lightscribe w/ OS X Blu-Ray app's, a 256GB SSD 6G OWC boot, 12 TB's of Western Digital SATA HDD's, with app's that total well over $3k thrown in (including taking the system in for a full bar check at my cost), that's a deal I don't see selling with other models.

That's an interesting way to go, on the systems that I have moved on, I stick
a brand new system drive in, ready to login and setup - that's all !!

I have had "requests" for things but that's usually "can you fill this with XXX*** cracks"
and that's not something I do, in fact I have avoided those Ebay buyers based on that
kind of response.

I do think that your extra cards / HDD's would be more valuable "outside" the package but
you never know, in my experience it's really hard to find the "right" buyer, when you include
lots of extra goodies.
Nice system and i wish you lots 'o luck with the sale :)
