I just noticed an annoying problem that my PowerBook has developed. The bottom piece of cloth around the opening of the SuperDrive has started to come undone and is sort of hanging out. Has anyone had this problem before? Any ideas on how to fix it? If no one has any thoughts, I'll run it into the Genius Bar, I just hope they don't tell me I need a new drive or something...

I don't think you will need a new drive, because that felt is attached to the bezel around the drive, not the drive itself which sits behind this bezel. I'm sure you have tried to push it back in, so I would take it to a Genius Bar. Are you still under warranty? I'm not sure what they will exactly have to do to get the felt back in, but they can fix it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not still under warranty on the machine, but I'm hoping it's a pretty easy fix. It's not really clear to me how it was attached in the first place. Anyone taken a PowerBook apart and know how the felt is attached to the bezel? Is it glue, or some sort of clamps, or what?
