Yeah I've heard about it, I'm going to wait until they fix all the first hand glitches and have some updates.

Well I took the plunge on this one today. Let me say that arcade racing games don't really interest me. I stopped buying NFS when they stopped offering a dashboard view. I've yet to ever drive a car in real life 7 feet behind it, and 10 feet in the air. Anyway, the first time I played it I felt like I made a big mistake. But I kept fooling with it and once used to it, I really like it's potential. The graphics are amazing. I almost wanted to stop and look at the rome scenery. The sample pics really don't do it justice. I never really noticed any slow down or anything. The soccer game is notorious for it on my phone. The cars actually feel like there was at least some work on the physics. The way you can flick the tail out seems quite real for a mobile phone game. Here are a few things I don't like.

- The accelerometer steering needs to be more sensitive. When I'm sliding through a corner or saving it from spinning the phone if vertical for me.

- Dashboard view. I really think it would make this game. I would recommend not trying to render it in 3d. The old NFS looked best with just a pic of the dashboard and working gauges.

- A few people have said they should add a F1 car to the mix. I love that idea but I don't see it happening. This is an evolution of the GT cars, not racing cars. Although another app of the racing cars would be awesome. ;)

So would you recommend it? and or do you regret buying it? I'm really eying the game up and the future online multilayer feature is even more tempting.

No I don't regret buying it at this point. I can only compare it to GTS world racing cause that is all I have on the iphone. But it's light years better than that. I just wish I could add some shifter paddles to the back of the iphone. :)

I wanted to get Asphalt, but then I saw this game. It looks amazing. Too bad I can't buy anything but free apps since I can't use iTunes gift cards to buy apps in Canada. D@MN! Wasted $25!

GTS was far too easy. I've also tried Asphalt 4, Raging Thunder, and Fastlane. I hate the controls on Asphalt. Raging Thunder is only slightly more challenging than GTS. Fastlane has been challenging, fun, and has decent BGM. I would be interested in another Racecar game if it were simulator-like (like Fastlane), and challenging. I'm still trying to get first place on the third track after three weeks of playing. Fastlane offers something like a dashboard view as well (too challenging for me though).

Sounds like this is possibly the best racing game for the iPhone according to several reviews. I have been holding out to buy a racing game... looks like this may be the one. it's also the most expensive one!

Gokunama, have you played Ferrari GT? and which is your favorite racing game?

I wish I had bought this instead of Asphalt 4. I'm not crazy about the drifting and boosts. :(

I couldn't resist and purchased this app.

I love it!

I prefer the touch control versus the tilt control, seems way too complicated tilting the phone around for precise control.

The career mode actually is pretty involved and detailed. Graphics are beautiful, music is pretty good. The different options are awesome! ok I have to get back to this game...

I have played it and played it for 2 hrs last night...

Few things about the game. Its nice and fast, hardly gets stuck...

It takes a hell a lot of time for the game to start up though... but am not sure if its just in my phone...
The game is surprisingly smooth for the high end graphics it has got...

The best part that I like in this game is it that the cars are really fast and I like it when it is fast ..... I use touch pad to play the games (No accelerometer or wheel on screen).... It has got nice cars and I will definitely recommend this game .... But again .... Am a huge NFS fan and if its going to be around the corner then I would wait for that before buying this....

Will give 4+ rating .... !!!

Anyone play it yet?

I notice that this game is made by the same people as Asphalt 4
which I already have

so Im willing to bet its an updated version of that which is simply improved a little (wouldn't be suprised if they brought those improvements to asphalt as an update) and is ferrari branded

if you wanna try it, why not just go with Asphalt? you save 4 bucks that way

then you could buy trism
or galcon
or food

Just bought this. Won the quick game on the first try. Graphics are pretty good, but Fastlane is definitely my favorite by a wide margin. I just love the challenge, drift, and overall atmosphere of that game.

For those not sure which racing game to get, Gokunama recommends Fastlane. The only game out now that I haven't tried is Fast and Furious. I don't think I will try it though, it looks too similar to Asphalt and Ferrari.

As of the 6th, it dropped in price to $5.99, removing any temptation to get Asphalt 4 instead. I just picked it up... it was sort of a "settle" buy -- I've been so impressed by Gameloft games, and I really wanted something else instead of a racer, but there wasn't anything satisfying looking, so I decided to snap this up while it's on sale (in case the price might return to $9.99, although I think the discount is permanent  ).

It's very nice so far. Really great graphics, and the career mode challenges so far are pretty good. I'm still trying to figure out which interface mode to use. I find myself actually using the Wheel mode, unexpectedly, because I find the accelerometer controls pretty unresponsive and the tap steering hard because I have to accelerate / brake and turn right with the same hand.
