Well, the 6 PM thing is new -- at least to me. I thought they'd go on sale whenever the respective stores open.

Its going to level the playing field a bit. I didn't want to take a day off work to stand in line. Now, I can leave an hour early from work to head over to the store.
Yet, at the same time ... it will generate even longer lines. A lot less people would be willing to get online at 6am. 6pm however ... many, its going to be rough.
Exactly. They released the 3rd gen iPod this way. Left work at 4:00 and stood omn the rain for a few hours. Worked out fine in the end.

I didn't really mind the lack of iPhone talk, I wasn't really expecting it at a Developers Conference.
Either way, in 18 days the phone gets released and everything we want to know will be answered. Jobs has a little over two weeks to schedule another keynote about iPhone, so I doubt our wait for new information will be long either way.
On the other hand, if it would have been iPhone loaded, I bet it would have got a negative response for lack of Leopard talk.

What new information are you guys wanting? Everybody seems to say "hopefully more information will be revealed" or that "some questions aren't answered" but thus far nobody has really said what.

The phone plans will probably be announced by AT&T on the 29th. Steve wants you to buy a phone, he doesn't really care what plan you get. I'm sure most of that price is up to AT&T.

..But there is. What about the pricing on the calling plans? Still, I guess that is AT&T's territory.
did they say that they were going to have special plans for the iphone? I wonder why they wouldnt just use the plans they already have.
Cause they're friggin expensive! I hope they're super cheap plans cause we're already dishing out $500-600 for the phone.

I agree, I know I would have been annoyed if they spent too much time on the iPhone. Yet, at the same time I am craving some more details.
What are the burning questions ? Well, let me start a list.
1) Does it have a removable battery ?
2) Data plan packages ?
3) Pre-paid or not ?
4) Activation at store, or when you get home ?
5) How many are being shipped ? (No way they would give these details out now however)
6) Any special packages being introduced for it ?
7) Online ordering, when ?
8) What does it come with, any accessories ?
9) Can you get a wall charger for it ?
10) Ringtones ... can you buy them on iTunes, can I use a playlist, can I use an mp3, etc
11) Does it have vibrate ?
12) Is the price listed previously, the official price ? (My guess it is, but never know)
13) Will it accept vCal events without syncing to iCal
14) Can I sync it with .mac while on the go ?
ughhh, you were watching something called world wide developers conference, remember? i don't know what your experience is with apple, but simply because they release a new hardware product once and a while at wwdc, does not mean they always will. i think today's keynote was completely on point; there was nothing to report regarding MB, MBP, airport, and other hardware was simply not updated just yet.
I will try to answer what I think I can or feel comfortable guessing on.
1) I believe this is not resolved, but I honestly don't recall.
2) This is very likely to be the case as it is inline with most phone company practices, however no one knows the pricing yet so anyone that tells you differently until you hear it from att or appl, is guessing.
3) No way. That is never a feature I have seen in a high-end phone.
4) There is supposed to be a unique way of doing this. You should be able to do so either in appl, att stores, or by way of iTunes.
5) As you said... (No way they would give these details out now however) rumor has it 3mm.
6) I have no idea what this means.

8) earbuds that have a mic at their base and a syncing dock.
9) Unclear, however appl has recently moved away from this being an included option.
10) again unclear, however, you can be very confident iTunes has been well incorporated and utilized in this.
11) no idea, but basic feature so lets go with yes.
I don't have a clue about 12-14.
