Ok so I'm working on getting Windows XP installed for my classes that start up next week, which require a few windows only programs. I backed up all of my information, ran bootcamp and partitioned 32 gb for windows. I inserted my (brand new) windows XP (sp2) disk and began the install. After copying the initial files etc it reached the point where it says "Starting windows..." or something along those lines and then would proceed to the dreaded "Blue Screen of Death."
After doing this a few times, all of them resulting the same, I gave up and hopped back onto Leopard to do some research online. I found that this blue screen of death could be caused by a faulty windows disc (this of course made me extremely happy considering the amount of money I had very recently spent on it) and then bugging all of my friends to figure out whether or not they had their own windows xp disc for me to borrow.
The best i could come up with was a windows home disc from my friend's old Dell but I figured better then nothing and proceeded to try the install. This time I made it past the "Starting windows..." portion of the install to the part where it prompts you to hit ENTER to install, R to repair, etcetera etcetera. However, upon hitting enter, nothing happens. I pushed other buttons on my keyboard, R, Enter, even caps lock (the little light wouldnt light up). Any idea what would cause this or a way to fix it? Perhaps plugging in an external keyboard? Any help would be greatly appreciated as my experiences with the "genius" bar havent been all too pleasant.
